Since last year I have been inviting a couple of other artsi friends over to work together on a Wednesday morning. Our mornings together have been filled with crocheting, photography, editing, painting, collaging and even beading! It is so exciting being surrounded by creativity in process.
My initial idea behind these get-together’s was to build relationship and create a place where Holy Spirit can move freely. God is the creator and the closer we get to him the more we can create!! So its all about getting closer to our creator, and in turn getting more creative!!
Since last month I felt God saying that the time has come for us to start seeking his leading more intentionally in our arts mornings. Our first morning was a huge success and we started off by praying and sharing a around the word and asking God to come and give us pictures, scriptures, dreams etc. Each person got a sheet of paper, some magazines and paint. 3 hours later I was astounded at the amazing artworks that had been made. Each was unique and each one powerful! I think we need to stop underestimating what God can do with an image. If the enemy can use a image to disturb and influence peoples thinking in a negative way then surely God can inspire us to create images that have the power to do the opposite!
So here is the picture I got and felt to create. It seems child-like but it was the most liberating thing I’ve ever made! It makes me want to dance and sing and wear pretty dresses and just get lost in love. This is a love journey. That’s what I’ve been hearing all week, each one of us is on a love journey. Love is the reason we walk, its what we pursue, its what gives us strength and its what we desperately need. And I’m ready for more!
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
1 Corinthians 2:9
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
